William Roy McClain

William "Roy" McClain, 71, resident of 497 Old Landfill Rd. husband of Betty Campbell McClain died Friday Nov. 23, 2007 at St. Frances Hospital in Greenville, SC.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Elmer and Mattie Strawhorn McClain.

Roy was a United States Air Force veteran and a retired conductor with the CSX Railroad with over 33 years of service. He was also a mason and a member of the Dew Drop Lodge # 266 AFM. He was also a member of Little Mountian Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Roy will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather whom will be missed by his many friends.

Survivors are: His beloved wife of 49 years Betty Campbell McClain of the home; 1 daughter Sherry Clinkscales and her husband John of Abbeville, SC; 1 son Jerry McClain and his wife Vicky of Abbeville, SC; 1 sister Lillie Massey of Anderson, SC and 2 brothers Harold McClain of Chattanooga, TN and Lemuel McClain of Anderson, SC; 4 grandchildren Jay Clinkscales and his wife Becky, Samuel McClain, Jordan Clinkscales, Daniel McClain.
He was preceded in death by a sister Janie Cann

Funeral services will be conducted Monday Nov. 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Little Mountian Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Parks officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home 497 Old Landfill Rd. Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Sunday evening.
