Walter Thomas Carter

Walter Thomas Carter, 74, a resident of Florida went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday December 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by Isabell Davis Carter, wife of 38 years.

He is survived by a step-daughter Linda Otto (Bruce) and a step-son Doug Sparks,
two brothers Bill Carter (Carolyn) and Mike Carter residents of Virginia. 8 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and 10 great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a precious granddaughter Darby Dutton.

He was a retired Clark Schwebel Employee with 25 years of service. He was of Baptist faith. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed animals, fishing and listening to Southern Gospel Music.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home in Abbeville, S.C. on December 27 at 11 am. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jack Findley III. Burial will be at Warrenton Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 10:45 am. The family will be at the home of Doug Sparks, 999 Old Calhoun Falls Rd. following the services.
