Wallace Dewitt Vandiver

Wallace Dewitt Vandiver, 99, resident of Exalted Healthcare formerly of 725 Vandiver Rd. widower of Nina Ruth Seigler Vandiver passed away Sunday May 11, 2014 at Exalted Healthcare in Iva, SC.

He was born in Antreville, SC Sept. 10, 1914 on the family farm. He was a son of the late James Reuben Vandiver and Olivia Gertrude Keys Vandiver. Wallace was a devoted farmer and rancher. He was the oldest living member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

He was the last member of his immediate family.

Survivors include a daughter Mable "Olivia" Reitz (Jerry) of Irmo, SC; a son Robert Allen Vandiver of the home; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Seigler Vandiver; a son Samuel Wallace (Sammy) Vandiver; two sisters Licia Keys V. Burkett (James) and Annie Gertrude V. Bonds (Ira); three brothers James E. Vandiver (Lillian), Harold W. Vandiver (Mary) and Enoch P. Vandiver.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Shiloh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Bynum officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home 725 Vandiver Rd.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at the church prior to services.
