Verna Lovitt Henderson

Verna Lovitt Henderson, 86, a long time resident of Abbeville died Jan. 1, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born in Snow Hill, NC to the late Charlie and Carrie Lovitt.

She retired after many years of dedicated service as a textile worker for Greenwood Mills. Mrs. Henderson was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her humor and loving heart. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include two daughters Barbara Whitman (Ken) of Simpsonville and Linda Edelstein (Barry) of San Antonio, TX; one son Freddie Henderson, Jr. of Greenville; two sisters Hilda Nichols and Mary Smith; one brother James Lovitt of North Carolina; four grandchildren Brian Reeves, Daryl Reaves, Anita Pleasant and Shawn Edelstein; 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Strickland.

A Celebration of Verna's life will be conducted Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens conducted by Rev. Jason Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following services.
