Theresa Hughes Ramey

Theresa Hughes Ramey, 79, formerly of 305 Sunset Drive died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a retired employee with the Abbeville Department of Social Services. She was also a member of Gilgal United Methodist Church.

Surviving are sons, Franklin M. Ramey Jr. and Albert T. Ramey II, both of Abbeville, Joseph H. Ramey of Thialand, Pati and David Todd Ramey of Greenwood; sisters, Carolyn Murph of Greenwood and Mildred Briganti of Morrisville, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was the widow of Franklin M. Ramey Sr. and the daughter of the late Joseph and Carolyn Hugulet Hughes.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gilgal United Methodist Church; burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family is at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Ramey Jr., 2188 Stevenson Road, Abbeville.
