Susan Georgette Hoffman Ruth

Susan "Georgette" Hoffman Ruth, 68, resident of 159 Tara Drive, passed away Saturday March 10, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.

Born in Washington, DC she was a daughter of the late George Isaiah Hoffman and Patsy Ellen Cordle Hoffman.

Susan was a retired registered nurse. She graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Richmond, VA. She was very active in the Food Pantry of McCormick, SC where she served as manager. Susan was also very active with the Maryland Organ Donation Team. She enjoyed knitting, swimming and dancing. She was a active member of Lutheran Church by the Lake. What really brought a smile to her face was enjoying time with her granddaughter, Ayslynn.

The family would also like to thank Health Related Home Care of Abbeville, SC, Assisting Angels of Greenville, SC, her friends at SLV and Congregation of Lutheran Church by the Lake who helped her at home and while she stayed at Greenville, also close friends who came out of state to help.

Special Thanks to Dr. Kahn, nurses and staff who gave her excellent care. Also thank you to Bon Scour-St. Francis Hospital and employees on the 5th floor who came to know her personally and gave her special care.

Survivors include : one son Sean Christopher Ruth and his companion Tammy Shaffer of Morgantown, West Virginia; her companion Ronnie Latham of Abbeville, SC; two sisters Mary Paulette Stefanik of Hilton Head, SC and Theresa Ellen Weakley of Luray, VA; one granddaughter Ayslynn Marie Ruth: and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Chad Stevens Ruth and her children's father William Roderick Ruth.

A Celebration of Georgette's Life will be conducted Saturday March 24, 2018 at 12 noon in Lutheran Church by the Lake officiated by Rev. Jim Kinsler.

The family will receive friends after the service in the church social hall.
