Sarah Bryant Milford, 92, resident of 103 Marshall Ave. widow of Thomas C. "Buddy" Milford passed away Friday Feb. 12, 2010 at Carlisle Nursing Center in Due West, SC.
Born in Branchville, SC she was a daughter of the late John H. Bryant and Fannie Smith Bryant.
She was retired from Western Union and formerly worked at McMurry Drug Co. and State Bank & Trust. She was a loyal and faithful member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church since 1931. She was very active in church having served as Youth Advisor of the church and was also a Sunday School Teacher. She was the former Moderator & Circle Leader of the Presbyterian Women. She was also active in civic organizations having been a member of Literary Lantern Book Club and the Daffodil Garden Club. Ms. Sarah will be remembered as being a loving, giving and caring person with a gentle soul and a great faith in God which she lived in her everyday life. She will be missed by her loving family and her many friends.
Survivors include 2 sister-in-laws Helen Bryant of Savannah, Georgia and Nancy Bryant of Clemson, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was twice married first to the late Raymond W. Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday Feb. 15, 2010 at 3:30 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Carol Strickland and Mr. Frank Smith officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home 103 Marshall Ave. Abbeville, SC
The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM prior to services on Monday.
