Sara "Reny" Reny Woolbright McCurry

August 26, 1926 — July 16, 2002

Sara "Reny" Woolbright McCurry, 75, of 1231 S. Main St., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a retired lab technician with Bigalow-Sanford, Rocky River Plant, with over 30 years of service. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She was also a member of the friendship Sunday school class. She was a member of the church choir and the WMU.

Surviving are widower, Jack A. McCurry Sr. of Abbeville; sons, Jack A. McCurry Jr. of Abbeville and Tim McCurry; daughter, Sheryl M. Brown of Abbeville; brother, Rev. T. Alfred Woolbright of Mount Holley, N.C.; sisters, Dorothy McClellan of Jacksonville, Fla. and Betty Kerby of Cherryville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Elijah P. and Edith Brown Woolbright. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Elaine McCurry.

Services are at 4 p.m. Friday at Southside Baptist Church by the Revs. Earl Hartly and Calvin Smith; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Friday. The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
