Sandra Gilliam

Sandra Smith Gilliam, 70, resident of 1797 Hwy. 72 West widow of Michael Gilliam passed away peacefully at her home Thursday March 7, 2019.

Born in Ware Shoals, SC she was a daughter of Mildred Kirkland Smith and the late Thomas Junior Smith.

Sandra was a homemaker and had done some substitute teaching with our local schools. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed shagging to beach music. She was a member of the Greenwood Shag Club and the Electric City Shag Club. Sandra was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: A son Michael James (Jay) Gilliam of Asheville, NC; a daughter Christine Kimsey (Jeff) of Abbeville, SC; her mother Mildred Kirkland Smith of Abbeville, SC; four grandchildren Glenn and Jonah Kimsey and Cade and Justin Gilliam; one step-granddaughter Jessica Blackman.

She was preceded in death by a son Andrew Michael Gilliam.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Shawn Armstrong and Branden McManus officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to services.
