Ruby Devall Sentell

Ruby Devall Sentell, 79, resident of 208 Hillcrest Drive widow of Alvin Sentell, passed away Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014 at The Hospice House in Greenwood with her loving family by her side.

Born in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Reed William Devall, Sr. and Martha Louise James Devall.

Ruby was a retired manager with Revco having served for over 18 years. She was a loyal and faithful member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. Ruby will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She had a deep and caring love for her children and grandchildren and will be missed by her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include five daughters Deborah Joyner (Gene) of Tryon, NC, Patricia Richey (Norman Owens), Jeanette Templeton, Susan Whennen (Bob) and Carolyn Johnson (Ricky) all of Abbeville, SC; two sisters Lib Owens of Williamston, SC and Golden Riddle of Belton, SC; one brother James C. Devall (Joan) of Williamston, SC; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister Nell Coker and a brother Reed W. Devall, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Oct. 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at 1308 N. Main St. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.

To my Sentell family, My heart goes out to each of you. I know what you are feeling. I loved Mrs. Ruby like my own mom. Heck she did partly raise me as I was with Carolyn a lot of the time. Praying for you all. Love ya DeRhonda

I am so sorry for your loss. I have loved Ruby ever since I meet her the first time at Revco and Terri told me thats my Nonna. At that minute she became my Nonna too. She was always smiling and so happy everytime I saw her. She will be so greatly missed by everyone who knew her. If any of you need something please let me know.

So sorry about your precious mother. So thankful she no longer suffers. Enjoyed being in the Auxiliary with her. Sweet, Sweet lady! I know she loved angels, just think, now she's a heavenly angel guarding over ya'll. I am in Charleston and cannot be there, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.
