Ruby Devall Sentell, 79, resident of 208 Hillcrest Drive widow of Alvin Sentell, passed away Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014 at The Hospice House in Greenwood with her loving family by her side.
Born in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Reed William Devall, Sr. and Martha Louise James Devall.
Ruby was a retired manager with Revco having served for over 18 years. She was a loyal and faithful member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church. Ruby will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She had a deep and caring love for her children and grandchildren and will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include five daughters Deborah Joyner (Gene) of Tryon, NC, Patricia Richey (Norman Owens), Jeanette Templeton, Susan Whennen (Bob) and Carolyn Johnson (Ricky) all of Abbeville, SC; two sisters Lib Owens of Williamston, SC and Golden Riddle of Belton, SC; one brother James C. Devall (Joan) of Williamston, SC; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister Nell Coker and a brother Reed W. Devall, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday Oct. 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at 1308 N. Main St. Abbeville, SC.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
