Ruby Wilson Seawright

Ruby Wilson Seawright, 88, resident of 11 Stevenson Rd. widow of Thomas Milton Seawright passed away peacefully Friday Dec. 16, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Greenwood, SC Nov. 30, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Erskine and Sudie Davis Wilson.

Ruby was a retired textile weaver with Bloomsburg Mills. She was an active member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church where she served on various committees within the church. She was also a member of the Long Cane Nites. Ruby will be remembered for her joyful personality and for being one of the most kind and caring people you have ever met. She had a deep love for her family and loved everyone she came in contact with.

Survivors include three daughters Darlene Creswell (Ronald), Lynn S. Mabry both of Abbeville, SC and Carol Ambrose (Mike) of Honea Path, SC; one brother Gene Wilson of Laurens, SC; seven grandchildren Brittany Clinkscales, Crystal Creswell, Angie Whaley, Preston Mabry, Cory Ambrose, Michael Ambrose and Missy Ambrose; nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Sheila Campbell and Judith Creswell for their kind and loving care for their Nanny during her illness.

She was preceded in death by a sister Dolly Baines and a brother Leonard Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday Dec. 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Little Mountain Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Darrell Fetlzer, Mickey Rice and Wayne Wicker officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Creswell 11 Stevenson Rd. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Sunday Dec. 18, 2016 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
