Robert "Bobby" Wallace Young, Jr

Robert "Bobby" Wallace Young, Jr., 72, resident of 308 Old Douglas Mill Rd. husband of Frances Major Young passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.

Born Aug. 21, 1944, Bobby was a son of the late Robert Wallace Young, Sr. and Fannie Lou Wells Young.

Bobby was a United States Army veteran. He was a former textile employee and retired as a conductor with CSX Railroad. Bobby enjoyed playing the guitar as well as singing gospel music. He was a former member of the gospel group Heavens Gates. He was an active member of New Life Worship Center. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and doing things for others in need.

Survivors include his beloved wife Frances Major Young of the home; two step- sons Mauldin Boswell of Due West and Stacey Young of the home; one step-daughter Diane Evans Abbeville, SC; four sisters Judy Ferguson, Joyce Hedden (Ted), Velma Lawton and Thelma Campbell; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Bobby Cutter. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home 308 Old Douglas Mill Rd.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM Thursday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
