Pendleton "P.B." Bird Pullin

August 14, 1925 — June 23, 2004

Rev. Pendleton Bird "P.B." Pullin, 78, resident of 312 Hwy 201, husband of Helen May Wantz Pullin, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at his home.

Born in Mt. Solon, VA, he was a son of the late Charles McKeen and Fannie Waid Pullin.

He was a United States Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Alabama Bible Methodist Conference, he pastored for over 50 years. He was affiliated with the Southern Methodist, Wesleyan Methodist and Bible Methodist churches. He pastored and was a church planter while serving churches in Jupiter, FL, Sumter, Charleston, Iva and Abbeville, SC. The last church he established was the Cold Spring Chapel, Abbeville, SC, where he pastored for over 20 years.

Survivors are: wife, Helen Wantz Pullin of the home; two sons, John B. Pullin of Abbeville, SC, George P. Pullin and his wife, Wanda, of Abbeville, SC; daughter, Rebecca P. Barnes and her husband, Tim, of Kannapolis, NC; two granddaughters, Rebecca Ann and Meri Elizabeth Pullin of Abbeville, SC; three sisters, Judith P. Young of Abbeville, SC, Louisa P. Garrett of Richmond, VA and Alice P. Stinson of Cotton Town, TN; brother, John E. Pullin of Richmond, VA.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dudley Pullin and Beverly Pullin.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 11 a.m. from The Chapel of The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Garden, Abbeville, SC. The Revs. Walter Headstrom, Merle Beiler and Tom Smith officiating.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening June 25, 2004. The family is at the home, 312 Hwy 201, Abbeville, SC.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont in lieu of flowers at 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to Cold Spring Chapel, 42 Cochran Rd., Abbeville, SC 29620.

The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
