Norman "Mack" McSwain Cason

April 6, 1949 — September 22, 2014

Norman McSwain "Mack" Cason, 65, resident of 445 North Leroy Rd. Seneca, SC passed away Monday Sept. 22, 2014 in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Norman Smith Cason, Jr. and Mona Bradberry Cason.

Mack was a 1967 graduate of Abbeville High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Clemson University Class of 1971, he also received his Masters Degree and his EDS Degree from Clemson University. He was a retired educator having retired from Walhalla Elementary School as principal. Mack was very active in the Kairos Prison Ministry and for his involvement he was nominated and elected to carry the Olympic torch on a leg through the state of West Virginia. He was also active in the McCormick Correctional Prison Ministry. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where he was very active in the "Men for Christ Ministry". Mack was also a very avid Clemson Tiger fan.

Survivors include his wife Katherine Korona Cason of Seneca, SC; one daughter Melissa Cason of Seneca; two sisters Ann Brown of Greenwood, SC and Mary Evelyn Campbell (Mike) of Abbeville, SC; a nephew Casey Brown of Columbia, SC; 3 nieces Ginni C. Patterson (Matt) of Columbia, SC, Ramey C. Crawford (Max) of Abbeville, SC and Mikki C. Campbell of Columbia, SC; and one great-niece Mary Patterson.

A Celebration of Mack's life will be conducted Saturday Sept. 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca, SC with the Rev. Jeff Childress officiating. The burial will be conducted at a later date.
