Mildred White Stevenson, 84, formerly of 203 Hillcrest Drive widow of Olin Stevenson died Sunday Oct. 4, 2009 at Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Lockhart, SC she was a daughter of the late Adolphus N. and Euprozyne Kidd White.
She was a retired Textile employee having worked for J.P. Stevens Plant and Bloomsburg Mills. She was also of the Methodist faith. She will be missed by her loving family and her many friends.
Survivors include 1 son Wayne Stevenson and his wife Kathy of Greenwood, SC; sister-in-laws Lila Belle Smith of Due West, SC and Ruth Campbell White of Abbeville, SC; brother-in-laws Sam G. Woods of Barnwell, SC and Jerry Rogers of Myrtle Beach, SC; special niece Elnita Thomas Hall of Greenwood; her best friend of 70 years Carolyn G. Newell of Abbeville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Adolphus, Benjamin, William Burnette, Oscar Meyers and Haskell N. White and sisters Maggie White Holmes and Lucille White Thomas.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday Oct. 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Long Cane Cemetery with the Rev. Sandy Scott officiating. The family is at the home of her son Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Stevenson 106 Lewis Trace Lane, Greenwood, SC.
The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Tuesday evening.
