Mildred Sue McLane Parnell

Mildred Sue McLane Parnell, 88, widow of the late Howard Matthew Parnell, formally of Calhoun Falls, entered into rest Wednesday June 19, 2024, at NHC of Greenwood.

Born on November 17, 1935, in Hartwell, GA to the late Fulton Ainsworth and Lucille Cleveland McLane, she was a graduate of Hartwell High School and a wonderful Homemaker.

Throughout her life she enjoyed Sewing, Cooking, Gardening, she always had a nice variety of African Violets, and being a caregiver. During her later years she enjoyed sitting on her front porch and socializing with those walking by.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Parnell of Calhoun Falls, Kevin Parnell (Jennifer) of Mt. Pleasant, Son-in-Law Glenn Jones, her grandchildren, Ashley Jones Warden (Robbie), Michael Wayne Jones (Melody), Gracie Parnell, Lucy Parnell, Jessica Parnell Ratliff (Bryan), and Samatha Parnell (John); 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy Parnell Jones, her brothers, Carey McLane and James McLane, and her sisters, Ruby McLane and Frances McLane.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM from the Chandler Chapel of the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00PM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Park.
