Mildred Rebecca Reynolds Manley

Mildred Rebecca Reynolds Manley, 91, resident of 917 South Main St. widow of Jesse Hiram Manly passed away Sunday Feb. 27, 2011 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Henry Ransom Reynolds and Mary Agnes Gable Reynolds.

Rebecca worked as a textile employee for Bloomsburg and retired from Milliken and Company after many years of service. She was also very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Hodges Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She was a former member of the Francis Eugene Harrison Chapter # 252 Order of the Eastern Star in Abbeville, SC. She was the former Past Worthy Matron and past District Deputy of the Grand Chapter. Mrs. Manley was also a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Mid Morning Circle and numerous committees within the church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Rachael Blackburn and her husband, Bill; son, G.M. "Mike" Manly and his wife, Patsy; her daughter-in-law Beverly Manley all of Abbeville, SC ; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Steve and Shannon Sutherland, Carol Hall, Michael P. Manly, Rodney Manley and Randall Manley; 10 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren.

She was the last member of 11 children in her family. She was preceded in death by a son Phillip Manley.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Wilson officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the residence 917 South Main St. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Scott and Steve Sutherland, Michael, Rodney and Randall Manley, Josh Hall, Davis Sutherland and Seth Manley.

Honorary escort will be members of the Mid Morning Circle at Grace United Methodist Church and members of the Eastern Star.
