Matthew Adam "Knocker" Horne

  Matthew Adam Horne, AKA “Knocker”, husband of Tracy Culbreth Horne, of Nance Road Lake Secession, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side. Adam, or Knocker as he was affectionally known, born September 29, 1961, was a son of the late Samuel Scurry Horne and Emily Williams Horne.

  He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Tracy Culbreth Horne of the home; a son, Matthew “Bubba” Horne of Bradley, SC; a daughter, Emily Wallace (Joseph) of Abbeville, SC; two granddaughters, Enslee and Ellie Wallace. 4 brothers, Gary Horne (Claire), Sammy Horne, Greg Horne (Anne), and Jeff Horne. He also had many nieces and nephews that he adored.

  Knocker was a graduate of Abbeville High School, and a Tennessee Volunteer Fan. He was formerly employed for 10 years with Pirelli Cable, now known as Prysmian.  He was owner and operator of Horne Tile Company, Abbeville, SC, which he retired from in 2017.

   He was an avid crappie fisherman, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting with his friends and family at the lake. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

  The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Trey Moore, Dr. Keith Scott, and the entire team at Homebridge Hospice of Abbeville Area Medical Center. They went above and beyond their call of duty.

  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Horne officiating.

  The family is at the home of Emily and Joe Wallace, 555 McNeil Rd., Abbeville, where the family would also like to invite everyone to come after the service to visit with the family.
