Mary Ellis Wilson

Mary Ellis Wilson, 86, resident of 2258 Hwy. 284 wife of James A. "Pete" Wilson went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday Nov. 6, 2012.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC she was a daughter of the late Newton Ellis and Sallie Young Ellis.

She was a retired textile employee with the Iva Shirt Plant. She was a loyal and faithful member of Midway Baptist Church for over 65 years. Mary will be remembered as a woman who lived her Christian faith everyday and always put God first, her family second and herself last. She loved her family, friends and neighbors and her love showed in everything she did.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years James A. "Pete" Wilson of the home; a son Rev. Roscoe Wilson and his wife Brenda of Gray Court, SC; a daughter Mary Hannah Fleming and her husband Roddy of Donalds, SC; 2 brothers Broadwell Ellis and Olin Ellis and his wife Molly all of Level Land, SC; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother Clyde Roscoe Ellis, a son Donald Newton Wilson and a grandson Donald Newton Wilson, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Nov. 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Midway Baptist Church with the Rev.'s Roscoe Wilson and Chad Charles officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
