Mary Hunter White

Mary Hunter White, 84, of New Hope Residential Center, Calhoun Falls, formerly of 293 Old Calhoun Falls Road, Abbeville, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville County, she was an inspector with the Abbeville Shirt Plant and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are daughter, Mary E. Hurt of McCormick; son, James F. White of Abbeville; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Ben White and the daughter of the late Frank F. and Molly Pettigrew Hunter.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home; burial will be in Long Cane Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
