Mary Lavonia Wilson

Mary 'Lavonia' Wilson, 89, of Abbeville Nursing Home, formerly of 126 Hammond St., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a retired weaver with Abbeville Mills with more than over 50 years of service. She was also a member of the Abbeville Church of God.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lila Finley Wilson.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home; burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday before services. The family will be at the home of her niece, Mr. and Mrs. James Hozey, 2347 Mt. Carmel Road, Abbeville.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 114 E. Earle St., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
