Mary E Hurt

Mary Elizabeth Hurt, 85, resident of 120 Caldwell Dr., McCormick, SC, wife of the late James Bryant Hurt, passed away Tuesday July 11, 2023, in North Augusta, SC. She was the daughter of the late Benjamiin Franklin White and Mary Frances Hunter White.

Mary attended Lander University where she received her BSN in Nursing. She was a registered nurse for 35 years. Mary was the original founder of Hurt Realty. She was a real estate broker for 34 years. Mary enjoyed living on the lake and spending time with her family. Mary was previously a member of McCormick First Baptist Church. She is currently a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, in North Augusta, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Franklin White.

Survivors are a son Bryan Gregory Hurt (Mary Carlton) of North Augusta SC, a daughter Miriam Brown White (Jim) of McCormick, SC, four grandchildren Cyndi New (Austin), Tripp White (Melissa), Brittany Duncan (Curtiis) and Bryan Hurt; 6 great grandchildren Will, Ruthie, Matthew New, Blanding and Charlotte White, Baynham Duncan.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday July 15, 2023, at 2:00 at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel at 208 S. Main St., Abbeville, SC with Pastors Dr. Paul W. Noe and Alvin Hodges officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery in Abbeville, SC. The family will receive friends Saturday July 15, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
