Marion "Buck" Below Parker

Marion Below "Buck" Parker, 87, resident of Richard Campbell Veterans Home in Anderson, SC formerly of 1630 Nation Rd. husband of Betty Powell Parker passed away Tuesday Dec. 11, 2012 at AnMed Hospital in Anderson, SC.

Born in McCormick, SC he was a son of the late Andrew Augustus "Bill" Parker and Sarah Arlena Below Parker.

Buck was a graduate of Antreville High School and was a retired Supervisor with Milliken Textiles and cattle farmed his entire life. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a faithful member of Bells United Methodist Church. Buck will be missed by his loving family and his many friends.

Survivors include his loving wife Betty Powell Parker of Abbeville, SC; his son David Andrew Parker and his wife Lana of Gaffney, SC; 2 daughters-in-law Teresa Parker of Anderson, SC and Cathy Parker of Abbeville, SC; 3 sisters Jennie Adair Smedlund of Marvel, NC, Sally Parker Goldman and Debbie Parker Harlow both of Greenwood, SC; grandchildren Graham Parker Moroney, Dana Faust, Jennifer Abernathy and Allison Davidson; 11-great-grandchildren; dedicated caregiver Janna Honicutt.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons Daniel Franklin Parker and Stephen Lynn Parker and a grandson Benjamin Barrett Parker.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Dec. 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM in Bells United Methodist Church with the Revs. Kevin Lindley and Frank Hartsell officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Thursday Dec. 13, 2012 at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Parker may be made to a charity of one's choice.
