Margaret Murray Thrower

February 5, 1913 — September 26, 2002

Margaret Murray Thrower, 89, formerly of 601 Chestnut St., a resident of Foothills Presbyterian Home, widow of the Rev. Woodrow Thrower, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Easley.

Born in McCormick, she was a retired public school teacher, having taught for more than 30 years. She taught in the Tennessee, Fla., and North Carolina public school systems. She also played the organ for a number of churches. She was a member of the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are daughter, Catherine T. Watt of Atlanta; sons, Richard M. Thrower of Abbeville and Wallace Michael Thrower of Gary, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David W. Thrower.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Parks; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral home, Abbeville.

The family suggests memorials be made to Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, 3836 S.C. 28, North Abbeville, S.C. 29620, or to Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, 194 S.C. 20, Abbeville, S.C. 29620
