Lois Johnson McMurtury

Lois Johnson McMurtury, 72, resident of 94 Pinehurst St. wife of C. Fred McMurtury passed away Friday March 23, 2012 at her home.

Born Dec. 26, 1939 in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Lois Owens and Roy Marion Johnson.

She will be affectionately remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are 2 sons, Sam McMurtury and his wife Marie of Calhoun Falls, SC and Ryan McMurtury and his wife Michelle of Abbeville, SC; 2 sisters, Barbara Bishop of Easley, SC and Nancy and husband Jerry Rook of Myrtle Beach, SC: 1 brother, Johnny R. Johnson of Pelzer, SC; 5 grandchildren, Samantha McMurtury, Tyler McMurtury, Justin McMurtury, Kirstie McMurtury and Grace McMurtury: 2 great-grandchildren Kennadi and Anna McMurtury. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry Johnson and Marion Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 PM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Long officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home 94 Pinehurst St. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
