Kenneth Howard "Kenny" Kurowski, 73, resident of 201 Lake Secession Rd. husband of Norma Schoonover Kurowski passed away Saturday Aug. 22, 2009 at his home.
Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin he was a son of the late Peter Paul and Grace Margaret Skenandore Kurowski.
He was a United States Marine veteran serving in the first, second and third Marine Divisions. After he was discharged from the Marines he later joined the United States Army in which he served in Vietnam from 1965 until 1966. He was a retired employee of the Oil Field Industry having worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a past American Legion Post Commander at Post 62 in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was also a member of the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin.
Survivors are his wife of the home; 2 sons Brian L. Kurowski and his wife Mellinda of Abbeville, SC and Gary W. Kurowski and his wife Peggy of Bridgeport, Illinois; 4 sisters Loretta V. Metoxen of Oneida, Wisconsin, Shirley M. Hill and her husband Fredmond of Oneida, Wisconsin, Patricia A. Cornelius and her husband Merlin of DePere, Wisconsin and Linda F. Mercier and her husband Glenn of Oneida, Wisconsin; 1 brother Gerald L. Kurowski and his wife Gloria Jeanne of Oneida, Wisconsin and 3 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Mr. Kurowski's Life will be conducted Thursday Aug. 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the home of Mr. Kurowski 201 Lake Secession Rd. Abbeville, SC conducted by the Rev. Bruce Moore. Full Military rites will follow.
There will be a private family viewing only.
