Julian Ernest Pruitt, Jr

Julian Ernest Pruitt, Jr., 86, resident of Richard Campbell VA Nursing Care formerly of 25 Pruitt Place widower of Joann Dove Pruitt passed away Friday Sept. 28, 2012 at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama he was a son of the late Julian Ernest Pruitt, Sr. and Evelyn Boyd Pruitt.

Mr. Pruitt was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a retired Textile Supervisor with Bloomsburg Mills. He was an avid golfer and coin collector. He mainly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 daughters Linda Freeland and her husband Larry of Greenwood, SC, Gwen McNeill and husband Ralph of Abbeville, SC and Karen Wilson and husband Joe of Abbeville, SC; 1 brother Larry Pruitt and wife Pat of Long Beach, MS; 2 sisters Patricia Bouchillon of Abbeville, SC and Bert Allison and her husband Bobby of Pickens, SC; 7 grandchildren Stacey Davis (Rob), Lesley Price (Andy) Troy Drinkard (Abby), Patty Culbreth (Chad), Jennifer Johnston (Andy), Bill Wilson (Stacy) and Michael Wilson (Kelly); 15 great-grandchildren Evan, Ellie, Mary, Mason, Max, Weston, Asher, Claren, Ian, Cadence, Jordan, Alex, Clay, Samantha and Dillon and soon to be 2 more great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by 3 sons Steven, Tracy and Ernie; 2 brothers Jerry and Bobby Pruitt.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted Monday morning Oct. 1, 2012 at 11:30 in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating. The family is at 37 Pruitt Place Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 prior to services Monday morning at the funeral home.
