Joseph Ellis McCord

Joseph Ellis McCord, 70, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home passed away Sunday May 2, 2010 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late William Joseph McCord and Louise Hammond McCord.

Joe was a homemaker and attended Congregational Holiness Church. Joe was fondly remembered as being Santa Claus downtown years ago. He will be truly missed by his loving family and many friends.

Survivors include 1 sister-Brenda Pruitt of Abbeville, SC and a brother Ernest McCord and his wife Martha of Greenwood, SC.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers William R., James R. and Thomas Eugene McCord and 2 sisters Sarah Morris and Louise Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 4, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Pruitt 85 Colony East Abbeville, SC.

Joe is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Tuesday afternoon prior to services.
