John Witzell Taylor

John "Johnny" Witzell Taylor, 84, formerly of Abbeville, SC husband of Maxine Hawkins Taylor passed away Monday March 14, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late John Leslie Taylor and Eliza Hawkins Taylor.

Johnny was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired TV Repairman and also helped with different auction companies. Johnny loved music and was an accomplished guitarist.

Survivors include his wife Maxine Hawkins Taylor; two sons Steve Taylor (Winnie Sue) of Lowndesville, SC and Tony Taylor (Margaret) of Hawaii; two daughters Phyllis Tucker (Tommy) of Abbeville, SC and Lisa Compton of Calhoun Falls, SC; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Alex Compton and a brother Hartwell Taylor.

Funeral services will be private.
