John "Andy" Andrew Harris

October 4, 1951 — August 14, 2004

John Andrew "Andy" Harris, II, 52, resident of 200 South Main St., died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at Self Regional Health Care from a heart condition.

Born in Abbeville Co., SC, he was the son of Sarah Ruth Grant Harris and the late Henry Grant Harris.

Andy and his brother Grant were partners in Harris Brother?s Restoration and have restored many historic properties in this area. Andy was also very active in Cub Scouting, he was the treasurer of Mended Hearts, a support group for recovering heart patients. He was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church and attended New Covenant Church in Greenwood, SC.

He is survived by: His mother, Sarah Ruth Grant Harris of the home; 1 brother, Henry Grant Harris of Abbeville, SC; His uncle, Graham Harris of Greenwood, SC; Aunt-in-law, Mrs. Robert C. Grant; Fiancee, Sandy Hingtgen of Greenwood, SC; Special Grandchildren, Jacob Bowie, Renna and Gage Smith.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Robert Carl Grant and John Andrew Harris, Jr.; His grandparents, John Andrew and Mary T. Graham Harris and Rupert Carl and Eunice Minyard Grant; 2-Aunts, Ruby Ross Harris and Violet Brannon Harris.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM from Long Cane Cemetery, Abbeville, SC with the Rev. David Harrell and the Rev. Bob Clemons officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday evening Aug. 16 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at his mother?s home, 200 South Main St., Abbeville, SC.
