John Robert Dunn

John Robert Dunn Jr., 81, of 191 Cresent St. died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Self Regional Medial Center in Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late John Robert Sr. and J. Ruth Dodson Dunn. He was the retired owner and operator of Donalds Merchantile Store. He was a U.S. Army World War II Paratrooper veteran. He was also a member of the Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are widow, Elsie Knight Dunn of the home; son, Dr. J. Robert Dunn III of Lexington; sister, Margaret Drake of Honea Path; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Greenville Presbyterian Church cemetery. The body will be placed in the Greenville Presbyterian Church, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the graveside services at 2 p.m.

The family is at 194 Cresent St., Donalds, the home of Rebecca Knight.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Greenville Presbyterian Church, 6158 S.C. 184 East, Donalds, S.C. 29638.

Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville, is in charge of arrangements.
