Joel Bennie Napier

Joel "Bennie" Napier, Jr., 81, resident of 93 Woodview Apts. passed away Thursday Feb. 21, 2008 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Joel Bennie, Sr.and Lila Belle Pearman Napier.

Bennie worked for the Abbeville Coca Cola Co. for over 23 years and also sold insurance with Pilot Life Ins. Co. for a number of years and he retired from Abbeville County Law Enforcement Detention Center. He was a World War II Army veteran and was also a mason and member of the Clinton Lodge # 3 AFM. He was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.

survivors are: 1 daughter Margaret Tsantakis and her husband George of Cross Hill, SC; 2 sons Travis Napier of Swansboro, NC and Nathan Napier and his wife Ellen of Abbeville, SC; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; also by a special friend Helen Cannon of Abbeville, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Feb. 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Miller officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Bennie is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 5:00 until 6:30 PM Saturday evening. The family is at the home 93 Woodview Apts.Abbeville, SC.
