Jeanne Helms Carwile, 81, resident of 705 Shirley St., Calhoun Falls, SC, formerly of 1750 Hwy 201 Abbeville, SC, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at AnMed Center in Anderson, SC. She was the widow of James C. Carwile.

Born in Abbeville County, SC, she was the daughter of Elmo & Martha Cook Helms.

Jeanne was retired from the Social Security Administration as an Office Manager. She also worked for Prince Motor Co. for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Carwile of Abbeville; her 3 sisters, Marilyn "Punk" Helms, Ann Brown and Helen Hill, all of Calhoun Falls; the love of her life, her granddaughter, Sunni Elizabeth Carwile and a special caregiver, Carrie McIntosh. Jeanne was preceded in death by a son, Steven Helms Carwile.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Long Cane Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Beauford officiating. The family will receive visitors at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service on Sunday. The family members are at the respective homes.
