James "Jim" William Young

James "Jim" William Young, 84, resident of 111 McGowan Ave. was called home to be with his LORD Sunday July 20, 2008. He was the loving husband of Margaret Ann Young.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Clifton and Henrietta Martin Young.

Jim was a retired Loom Fixer with Milliken Textiles with over 50 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jim was a devoted charter member of Westside Baptist Church where he also served as the church treasurer and also a deacon.He will be remembered as a loving and caring family man and will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years Margaret Ann Clarke Young of the home; 5 daughters Kathy Hagen and her husband Glen of Abbeville, SC, Julie Hanks and her husband Billy of Iva, SC, Kay Cameron and her husband Chris of Abbeville, SC, Jackie Owens and her husband George of Abbeville, SC and Beth Patterson of Abbeville, SC; a grandson Greg Young; 3 sisters Ethel Wilson, Frances Clark and Mary Speer and her husband James all of Abbeville, SC; a brother Arthur Young of Abbeville, SC; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 23, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev.'s James Long and James Blackwell officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the home 111 McGowan Ave. Abbeville, SC.

Jim is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Tuesday evening.

Active pallbearers will be the grandsons and Honorary pallbearers will be members of Westside Baptist Church.
