James Albert Slay

James Albert Slay, 80, formerly of 1010 Miller Rd. died Saturday Oct. 26, 2007 at the Hospice House of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Steven Albert and Sallie Mae Turman Slay.

James will be remembered as a loving brother and will be missed by his caring brothers and sisters.

Survivors include 4 brothers Tommy Lee Slay of Abbeville, SC, Johnny K. Slay of Greenwood, SC, R. Allen Slay of Abbeville, SC and William F. Slay of Laurens; 2 sisters Viola Smith of Abbeville, SC and Mary Helen Smith of Abbeville, SC.

He was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Slay and a sister Erline Richey.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday Oct. 29, 2007 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Louie Richey 488 Hwy. 185 South Donalds, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Monday afternoon prior to services.
