James "Mick" McMahan

  James Michael “Mick” McMahan, 74, resident of Ray McMahan Rd. passed away Tuesday Sept. 20, 2022 in Anderson, SC.

  Born in Anderson Co. SC he was a son of the late Ray McMahan and Colleen Suttles McMahan.

  Mick was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass with over 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and attended Rocky River Baptist Church. He will be missed by his loving family and his many friends.

  Survivors include: three sons: Mike McMahan, Kelly McMahan (Donna) and Glen McMahan (Pam); one daughter Christy Cheek; twelve grandchildren Lea Brezeale, Brantley Witcher, Jacob McMahan, Justin McMahan, Ashleigh Graydon, Mackienze McMahan, Jacob Powell, Drew Powell, Eric Payne, Ethan Suttles, Aiden Suttles and Justin Fountain; Great-grandchildren Riley Pruitt, Easton Fountain, Maci Brezeale, Allie Brezeale, Malaki Graydon, DJ Bowie, Hunter Payne and Alaina Payne: his best friend and mother of his children Sarah Burdette, and his beloved dog Dolly.

  He was preceded in death by siblings Terry McMahan and Edith McMahan.

  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Sept. 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Greer officiating.

  The family will receive friends Friday Sept. 23, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his son Mike McMahan, 5719 Flat Rock Rd., Iva, SC.
