James Herman Loftis

James 'Herman' Loftis, 84, resident of 125 McGowan Ave. husband of Elizabeth Mundy Loftis died Saturday Sept. 24, 2005 at National Health Care Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Herman Reid and Lilly Smith Loftis.

He was a retired clerk and yardmaster with CSX Railroad with 40 years of service. He was a WW II Army Air Corps. veteran. He was a member of Abbeville Presbyterain Church where he was a former deacon and elder.

Survivors are: wife Elizabeth Mundy Loftis of the home, 2 sons Johnny Loftis of Abbeville, SC and Jimmy Loftis of Newport, TN. 5 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a twin sisiter Mary Elizabeth Mundy Loftis.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday Sept. 27, 2005 at 2:30 PM from Long Cane Cemetery, Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Monday evening. The family is at the home 125 McGowan Ave. Abbeville, SC.
