James "Bloy" Hester

James "Bloy" Hester, 84, resident of 638 Hwy. 81 north passed away Saturday Nov. 7, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Calhoun Falls, SC he was a son of the late Billy Brock and Mary Hill.

James was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Department of Commerce as an Electrician with 35 years of service. He attended Glovers AME Church. The family would like to express a warm THANK YOU to his caregivers Randy Anderson and Carl Patterson for their caring and loving attention to him.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Simmons of Calhoun Falls, SC; one sister, Callie Mae Strong of Edina, MN; three grandchildren, Montell Simmons, Antoinette Sprowl (Eric) and Sean Simmons (Angela); three great-grandchildren; two nephews Billy Hill (Jerri) and Jimmy Moody (Jean); one niece Patricia Strong (John).

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Nov. 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home 638 Hwy. 81 north Calhoun Falls, SC.
