James "Doodle" Allen Gambrell

James Allen "Doodle" Gambrell, 70, of Level Land Community passed away at his home May 11, 2015.

Doodle was born Dec. 14, 1944, the son of the late Una Agnes Leonard Gambrell and Joe Mack Gambrell.

He was a graduate of Dixie High School and attended Erskine College. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. Doodle was a retired real estate appraiser and auctioneer. He was an avid collector of carnival glass and antiques and enjoyed gardening and shrimping.

Survivors include a sister Betty Jo Gambrell of Anderson, SC; two sons Joseph Allen Gambrell of Forrestville, CA and Michael Stephen Gambrell of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren Ella Ruth Gambrell and Jaxson Boone Gambrell both of Greenville, SC.

A celebration of Doodle's life will be held at his home 405 Horse Farm Rd. Iva, SC on Saturday May 16, 2015 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
