James "Pat" Patrick Carroll

James Patrick "Pat" Carroll, Sr., 84, resident of 119 Briarcliff Ave. husband of Madeline Carroll passed away Wednesday April 15, 2015 at Hospice House in Greenwood, SC with his loving family by his side.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Fred Carroll and Hazel McCurry Carroll. He was twice married first to the late Billie Payne Carroll.

Pat was a former member of the Abbeville National Guard Unit. He was a retired textile employee with over 50 years in management. Pat was a Master Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a member of the Allan Crawford Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his beloved wife Madeline Scoggins Ellis Carroll of the home; one son James P. "Jim" Carroll, Jr. (Nancy) of Greer, SC; one sister Freddie C. Taylor of Abbeville, SC; two brothers Jerry Carroll (Gertie) of Abbeville, SC and Robert Carroll Walker of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren Allison, Lindsey and Jim Carroll, III; one great-grandchild Carson Carroll.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Mary L. Carroll Ellis and Mary Carroll Mundy.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday April 18, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Jonathan Shelor and Earl Hartley officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to services.
