Jack B Mattison

Jack B. Mattison, 74, resident of 510 North Main St. passed away Sunday Aug. 21, 2016 at his home.

Born August 20, 1942 in Ware Shoals, SC, he was a son of the late Clifton Mattison and Virginia Gaddis Mattison.

Jack was a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He was a retired History teacher having taught in the public school system in the Columbia area. Upon retirement he became very involved in the Real Estate business. Jack was also a member of Welcome Presbyterian Church in Ware Shoals, SC. He will be remembered for his kind and caring nature.

Survivors include his beloved sister Norma Abercrombie of Wars Shoals, SC; two brothers Roy A. Mattison of Ware Shoals, SC and David Mattison of Honea Path, SC; a nephew Danny Abercrombie (Debbie) and a great-nephew Kyle Abercrombie.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Aug. 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is at 508 N. Main St. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home.
