Henry "Alvin" Charping, 76, resident of 814 Anderson St. husband of Alice Kimsey Charping passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday June 11, 2009.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late T.J. and Eva Frances Arnold Charping.
He was a retired textile employee of Burlington Industries with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the New Life Worship Center in Abbeville, SC. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Alice Kimsey Charping of the home; 3 daughters, Deborah Fleming and her husband Dennis of Elberton, Georgia, Linda Charping of Calhoun Falls, SC and Terri Hembree and her husband Artie of Calhoun Falls, SC; 2 brothers, Neil Charping of Iva, SC and Leroy Charping of Anderson, SC; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers David, Gerald, James E., Joe E. and Francis and sisters Thelma Mitchell and Janie Estelle Chrisley.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Cutter officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Mr. Charping is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday afternoon prior to services. The family will be at the home of his daughter Mr. & Mrs. Artie Hembree 850 Shirley St. Calhoun Falls, SC.
