Helen Roberson Risner, 83, widow of the late Billy Joe Risner, resident of Winding Creek Court, entered into rest Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 14, 1942 in Anderson to the late Jack and Agnes Norris Roberson, she was a homemaker, raising her children, grandchildren along with some neighborhood children.
Helen loved flowers, especially growing flowers, and was a green thumb gardener. She enjoyed cooking and having big family dinners. In her latter years, Helen kept up with the News and enjoyed watching the Cooking Network.
Surviving are her children, Billy “Pete” Risner (Angie) of Honea Path, Linda Risner Pressley of Iva, Mary Risner Bowen (Ricky) of Honea Path, Randy Risner of Honea Path, and Jack “Shorty” Risner (Jaime) of Abbeville; her brother, Charlie Roberson; her sisters, Emma Sue Porter, Debbie Matthews, and Sally Lou Lee; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wilbur Lou Panadore, a granddaughter, Sandy Risner, 3 brothers, Wilbur, Hank and Ronald Roberson, a sister, Lou Henderson and a special Aunt, Jeanette Walters.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chandler Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shorty Risner, Pete Risner, Randy Risner, Ricky Pressley, Jacob Bowen, and R.J. Risner.
Flowers are accepted and memorials may be made to the Glen Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery Fund, 2632 Providence Church Rd. Anderson, SC 29626.
