Harold Miller McCord

September 30, 1914 — March 29, 2004

Harold "Miller" McCord, 89, of 104 Ridgeway St., died Monday, March 29, 2004.

Born in Abbeville, he was a World War II veteran. He was former owner and operator of McCord Lumber Company and was a self-employed retired carpenter. He was a very active member of the Abbeville First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a former deacon of the church.

Surviving are widow, Eleanor Knox McCord of the home; daughter, Julie Williams of Abbeville; sons, Terrell McCord, Robert Wayne McCord and James Donald McCord, all of Abbeville; sister, Margaret M. Brown of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late William Godfrey and Mamie Alice Miller McCord.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, prior to service.

The family is at the residence.
