Prudence "Prue" Simpson Williams, 95, resident of 205 Sunset Drive Abbeville, widow of Edward "Eddie" Eugene Williams, Sr. , passed away Saturday Sept. 18, 2010 at her home.
Born in Abbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Gerdie Simpson and Nettie Fisher Simpson.
She was a retired seamstress with the Abbeville Shirt plant and was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Eddie, were owners and operators of Williams Service Station for many years. Prue will be remembered for her jovial personality and her caring manner. She will be truly missed by her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include 1 son Edward Eugene "Pete" Williams, Jr. of Calhoun Falls, SC and a daughter Margaret Ann "Mardee" Mauldin of Abbeville, SC; 4 grandchildren Cyndee Cox, Eddie Thomas Mauldin, Kathy Lynn Daily and Kimberly Welsh. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Pamela Jean Williams.
Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters; Ansel Simpson, Reba Lowe, Jessie Lowe, Willie "Bill" Prince, Derrell Caldwell, Evelyn Simpson, Grady Simpson, Leslie Simpson, Cynthia Lou Thomson, Dewey "Hobb" Simpson, Presley Simpson, Daniel "Dan" Simpson and David "Tag" Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Tuesday Sept. 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM with the Rev.'s James Long and Tommy Cartledge officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The body is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Monday evening, September 20th. The family is at the residence 205 Sunset Drive Abbeville, SC.
