George Wessels

George Erwin Wessels, 70, resident of 72 Austin Drive passed away Wednesday July 29, 2020 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Hartford, CT he was a son of the late Erwin and Hazel Conklin Wessels.  He was a U. S. Airforce veteran.  George was a retired Tractor Trailer driver and also a computer programmer.

He is survived by: two daughters Leah Haynes of Abbeville, SC and Jana Jordan (Josh)of Houston, TX; a son Brad Wessels (Natalie) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren and a niece Christine Carlson of CT.

He was preceded in death by a sister Elaine Carlson.

A Private family graveside service will be conducted Friday Aug. 14, 2020 at 3:00 PM in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC.

The family is at the home of his daughter Leah Haynes 72 Austin Drive Abbeville, SC.

So sorry to hear of Mr George's passing. He was my Mama's (Mrs Ronda) buddy when she worked at the Shell store. She passed away in April so I know they are rejoicing together in Heaven! He was such a sweet man. RIP Mr George!!
