George "Tom" Thomas Hill

George Thomas "Tom" Hill, 88, formerly of 1211 Flat Rock Rd. passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at Richard Campbell Veterans Home in Anderson, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Noah Webster Hill and Maggie Davis Hill.

Tom was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Owings-Corning Fiber Glass with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Sheriff's Association. Tom will be remembered for his warm and loving demeanor.

Survivors include his beloved niece Patricia McNeill (Ronnie) of Abbeville, SC; a nephew Michael Jennings of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and 2 great-nephews Christopher and Jason.

He was preceded in death by four sisters Mildred and Margaret Hill, Allie Mae Frick and Mary Ellen Jennings.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Aug. 3, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Argo officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home. The family is at the home of his niece Mr. & Mrs. Ronnie Mc Neill 794 Jackson Rd. Abbeville, SC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Tom to Richard Campbell Veteran's Home, Hall 602, 4605 Belton Hwy. Anderson, SC 29621.
