George "Ned" Ned Crawford

George "Ned" Crawford, 85, resident of 3451 Keowee Rd. Little River Community passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Mountain Home Health and Rehab in Hendersonville, NC.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC, he was a son of the late Robert E. Crawford and Blanche Pruitt Crawford.

Ned was a United States Army veteran having served during WWII. He attended the University of Georgia. Ned was a retired farmer having worked his home place for many years. Ned was a member of Little River Baptist Church and the Donalds Masonic Lodge. Ned also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and just enjoying life in general.

He is survived by 2 brothers James Carroll Crawford of Atlanta, GA and Gus Crawford of Pelzer, SC as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Ned was preceded in death by brothers, Allen Pruitt Crawford, R. E. Crawford, John Frank Crawford and sisters, Ruth C. Davis and Rachel C. Chapman.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Little River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Garrett Hart officiating.
