George Walter Buell

April 16, 1952 — June 14, 2004

George Walter Buell, 52, of 246 Raven Wood Circle Piedmont, died Monday, June 14, 2004, in Greenville.

Born in Virginia, he was a graduate of Carson-Newman College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in religion. He was the production coordinator for the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation Department in Seneca. He was a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troup 210 in Powdersville. He was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon, member of the adult choir and a Royal Ambassador leader.

Surviving are widow, Donna Holt Duell of the home; son, Geoffrey Travis Buell of the home; parents, Clyde and Marion Buell of John's Island; brothers, Tommy Buell and Raymond Buell, both of Charleston; and sisters, Donna Croom, Patti Quijano and Mary Buell, all of Charleston.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Abbeville by the Revs. Dennis VanCuren and Jonathan Taylor; burial will follow in the Stapleton First Baptist Church Cemetery in Stapleton, Ga. at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home in Abbeville. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church social hall of Abbeville First Baptist Church.
