Geneva Martin Baker

Geneva Martin Baker, 97, resident of Agape Assisted Living in Irmo, SC widow of Robert Lee Baker passed away Friday Dec. 17, 2010 at Agape Assisted Living.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC, she was a daughter of the late William Martin and Kate Blanchett Martin.

She was a retired textile employee with Milliken Textiles with over 30 years of service. She was a very active member at Grace United Methodist Church in her earlier years having taught Sunday School Class and serving on various other committees in the church. She was the oldest living member of the church prior to her death.

Survivors include her son R. Michael "Mickey" Baker of Irmo, SC. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Leroy, Frank and Guy Martin and a sister Helen Campbell.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Dec. 19, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Wilson officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to services Sunday afternoon.
